ICO and the GDPR

ICO and the GDPR

The 25 May 2018, will see the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) affect every organisation that processes EU residents’ personally identifiable information (PII). For many businesses, the threat of insolvency or even closure because of GDPR penalties will soon be very real.

From now until May 2018 businesses have a short amount of time to produce compliance with the new law, which is why it’s essential to prepare now.

The ICO is committed to assisting businesses and public bodies to prepare to meet the requirements of the GDPR ahead of May 2018 and beyond.

Many businesses state compliancy to these standards but have not actually been formally audited by the BSI to achieve the accredited status.  Businesses that have been formally audited for these standards will have the certifications as evidence, like we do!
